What is a line? Paul Klee thinks of it as a walking dot. Computer thinks of it as connecting the dots.
In this piece, a line is drawn as a catmull-rom curve, while its vertices move and jiggle according to rules of cellular automata. It applies a generative algorithm to a pre-determined line, making it half-predictable.
The result is a scribble-like drawing. There is something interesting about it, though I am not totally convinced.
Use the sliders to configure brush size and number of steps, and then drag to draw a line. Press Spacebar to clear the drawing.
