Everything with one wheel (or will) can move along a straight path. Everything with two wheels (or wills) can turn, spin, navigate, and look rather foolish.
How does it work? Moving the wheels (or wills) in different speeds and/or directions, the object will either must an appropriate path or suffer a breakdown indeed.
The proper term is called Differential Steering, I learned. And with the great help from smart people in Processing forum (special thanks to JohnG, TomC, and kevinP), I made this little java applet.
